Rafael Pinto, Founder and Director of Occasio International Advisory Services (Occasio), works in partnership with several other
professionals, from different fields and experiences, and from countries all
over the world, in order to implement innovative projects and business
services. He strongly believes that by collaborating
and complementing each other’s skills in the workplace, we can add more
value to projects and business deals and become more efficient and
competitive.
Rafael has already lived in 10 countries, including in
Europe, Africa, Asia, North America, South America, and in the Caribbean, and
has traveled around the world for work and pleasure. This provides him with the ability to work
well with people and companies from different cultures, mindsets, and
experiences. Rafael speaks Portuguese,
Spanish, and English.
Over the past 16 years, Rafael has worked on developing and
supporting different programs in the area of entrepreneurship in countries all
over the Americas region. He has also provided support services for companies
and organizations looking to expand their business opportunities into new
markets. Throughout these work experiences, Rafael has always promoted the
benefits of networking and collaboration between stakeholders, and he launched
Occasio with that vision in mind: To develop an ecosystem of qualified and
serious partners that can work together successfully on projects and business
deals.
Before starting Occasio in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Rafael
worked at the Young Americas Business Trust - an organization affiliated to the
Organization of American States, and the International Finance Corporation - of
the World Bank Group, in Washington, DC, USA.
He also lived in Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic, and worked at
the United Nations Association of the Dominican Republic.
Rafael studied at St. Louis University – Madrid Campus and
Florida International University for his bachelor’s degree in International
Relations, and at American University for his Master’s degree in Development
Management.
Rafael serves as a Strategic Advisor for the Young AmericasBusiness Trust, which aims to promote social and economic development of young
people around the world through programs of leadership, training, technology,
and alliances.
He is also one of the Directors at the LatAm Startups
organization, which aims to strengthen business opportunities, networking, and
linkages between the innovation, entrepreneurship, and Startup ecosystems in
Latin America and Canada.
