In 1992, Adams launched the weekly, commercially-syndicated radio show ‘The Sounds of Brazil’ in Chicago (WDCB, WNUA) before expanding its affiliate list to include 55 US markets.
Adams has been praised for his innovation in programming Brazilian music for audiences worldwide, consistently raising the bar by breaking ‘new’ Brazilian artists. This focus has led to ratings success in the competitive arena of commercial radio: The Sounds of Brazil has been regularly been ranked #1 for adult listeners by Arbitron, the US radio ratings organization.

In 1993, Adams began publication of The Brazilian Music Review a quarterly magazine with a subscribed readership of 20,000. As a journalist, Mr. Adams has held the position of Special Projects Editor with Jazziz magazine and has written on Brazilian music for Playboy and Arte magazines.
In 1996, Adams conceived Connectbrazil.com, a music-based retailer for Brazilian music which incorporated music reviews, cross-cultural editorial content and listener support for The Sounds of Brazil’s national radio audiences.

In 2000, Adams accepted a consulting position for national marketing & media with the Broward Center for The Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale to develop its annual ‘Brazil Night’ program. Internationally recognized for its innovation and quality of presentation, he helped to expand the Broward Center’s public and commercial profiles.   The program’s success resulted in the establishment of the Broward Center as the first official ‘Points of Light’ location by the Brazilian government in 2006. Adams served on the official presentation committee with Minister of Culture Gilberto Gil, Secretary Célio Turino, Secretary Sergio Xavier, and Antônio Grassi, President of FUNARTE, Brazil’s National Foundation of Art and US Ambassador to Brazil, Ambassador Donna J. Hrinak.

Also in 2000, Adams was tapped by Yahoo.com as its Internet Radio programming consultant for Brazilian music and was recruited for a similar partnership with Live365.com in 2004.    Adams has combined these resources to form the basis of his work with the marketing and promotion of Brazilian culture and music in the United States, having represented Grammy winning musicians and with successful private-sector projects for a variety of businesses in the US, Brazil and worldwide.
In 2004, Adams curated the complete English-language translation of the biography of Brazilian singer Elis Regina, ‘Furacão Elis’ by Regina Echeverria (1985) by giving it a protected and permanent online home.

In 2006, Adams published the white paper, ‘The Four Essential Elements of Brazilian Radio’ which served as the keynote address for the Radio forum at the 1st Brazilian International Communication Seminar in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Today, it stands as a definitive statement for the advancement and positioning of Brazilian music as a cultural mainstay.
In 2007 Adams joined with Nu Groove Records to create Points South Music, an artist-directed label for Brazilian music. Points South also represented Rio-based label, Albatroz Music for the US market. Results included a Grammy award winner for ‘Best MPB Album.’
In 2011, BrazilClubUSA.com debuted as a social networking directory in support the Brazilian/American community with more than 1,550 listed businesses, organizations and entrepreneurs.

On Thanksgiving Day, 2014 The Sounds of Brazil made its official launch as an “always ‘Live’” streaming radio station, with a 5,000-song library and utilizing broadcast industry-standards and practices from its digital studio in Chicago, Illinois. The worldwide stream posted its 10th consecutive quarter of double-digit growth in 2015.

In July 2016, The Sounds of Brazil celebrated its 16th year of streaming radio by partnering with Chicago’s AccuRadio.com to program one of the network’s fastest-growing channels, ‘BossaNovaville’, and Adams was named Brand Manager for Brazilian music programming, which today has grown to a network of 15 unique channels under his direction.

2017 marked the 25th broadcast anniversary of The Sounds of Brazil. The yearlong celebration has included a partnership with Copa Airlines for the return of the ‘Fly Me To Brazil’ Giveaway plus the addition of Orlando, Florida’s radio affiliate for The Sounds of Brazil, on Brasil Radio AM/FM, the US radio gateway for Brazil’s Grupo Bandeirantes.

June 21, 2018 saw the return of Connectbrazil.com as part of BrazilClubUSA.com’s rebranding initiative. Changes included a robust blog platform plus repositioning of Brazil Club’s directory services to focus on Lifestyle marketing: “Music, Travel, Friends & Fun.”
